Our Approach
Our Approach
Our Approach
We at EKA believe that the upside for individuals and education institutions to benefit from behavioral research is significant. We make this cutting-edge research practical for education institutions by translating the best ideas and theories into applicable training, technological solutions and sound advice. On the basis of granular, transparent analysis that is rich and insightful, we provide actionable, data-driven solutions to developing students and addressing critical pain-points.
EKA employs a three-tiered methodology to our programs:
- Awareness
- Exposure
- Application
Balance Act: Mental Wellness
Balance Act: Mental Wellness
Balance Act: Mental Wellness
In our busy lives we all occasionally feel out of balance. At times, some of us might even feel that we are on the edge of losing control. The idea of obtaining emotional balance is not simply about getting rid of negative emotions, but instead learning how to experience them, cope with them and keep them moderated. This series includes a variety of workshops focusing on time management, stress management, resilience and Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
Emotional IntelligenceEmotional Intelligence describes an ability, capacity, or skill to perceive, assess, and manage the emotions of one's self, of others, and of groups. Emotional Intelligence is at the heart of self-leadership and good relationships. Individuals who can manage their own emotions and respond to the emotions of others make better decisions, are more effective and build better relationships.
Time ManagementTime Craft was designed to allow participants to learn to better manage their time. These skills, modeled after highly successful people who juggle multiple demands and constantly changing priorities, is taught using a combination of hands on situational learning, structured experiences and actual supervised planning sessions. Participants will learn to firstly, manage their time better, and subsequently, make time work for them.
Stress ManagementIn this workshop, participants will discover their individual stress styles and patterns, their energizers and triggers, as well as explore and learn stress busters best suited for their stress patterns. This individualized formula has been the bedrock of our successful stress management series.
ResilienceResilience is about our ability to weather the storms that life throws at us. In this module, we will look at the factors that contribute to resilience and how we can leverage on these factors. Participants will learn how they can change their thinking patterns as well as the strategies they can use to be more resilient and overcome any challenges they face.
Creativity & Innovation
Creativity & Innovation
Creativity & Innovation
This workshop focuses on tools that allow individuals to creatively challenge the process; finding true applicable, operational and practical value in their innovation and creativity.
While some people claim that the route to innovation is indescribable, we believe there's often a simple, recurrent structure to creative thinking. Most original ideas aren't completely original, but instead are the result of two basic things: problems in search of solutions and solutions in search of problems.
In this workshop, we share with participants the fundamentals of the creative problem solvers toolkit via a series of complex structured experiences and activities tailor-made to draw out each person’s problem solving and decision making strategy.
Design Thinking
Design Thinking
Design Thinking
In the simplest terms, Design Thinking is “a formal method for practical, creative resolution of problems or issues, with the intent of an improved future result.” It’s a methodology for actualizing your concepts and ideas.
Design Thinking attempts to inspire the essential element of creativity, the ability to take an abstract idea and create something with it. It’s based upon the fundamental belief that an unexecuted idea, one that is never realized, is a worthless proposition and that doing is equally as valuable as thinking.
The Design Thinking process first defines the problem and then implements the solutions, always with the needs of the user demographic at the core of concept development. This process focuses on needs finding, understanding, creating, thinking, and doing. At the core of this process is a bias towards action and creation: by creating and testing something, you can continue to learn and improve upon your initial ideas.
“We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.”

Interview Skills
Interview Skills
Interview Skills
Most of us would probably find ourselves on the receiving end of an interview at some point in our lives. Be it for a school position, a scholarship, or a job opening, interviews are a part and parcel of our journey from and through academia to our forays into the realms of the corporate world. As such, it becomes imperative to find ourselves as well prepared as possible, both in terms of hardware and heart-ware.
This workshop is designed to take participants through the preparation for the interview, the interview process proper and of course, the much-neglected, but oh-so-important seemingly peripheral factors like dressing, ways of being and poise.
“Everything you can imagine is real.”
Learning Styles
Learning Styles
Learning Styles
Each of us has our own innate learning styles and profile type that is unique to ourselves. Often, students that find themselves struggling academically, are simply studying with a methodology that is not suited to their learner type. This workshop takes a step more than simply identifying each individual’s learner’s profile, it also shares with participants practical strategies that each student should use to apply directly to their studies- learner specific, of course.
Participants will gain an understanding to the learning-behavior model based on the Dunn & Dunn Model and Dr. Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory. This profile allows them to better understand what their natural learning style provides for them, as well as what their blind- spots are, so that they may find and learn better, more effective ways of structuring their study plans and techniques
Motivation & Engagement
Motivation & Engagement
Motivation & Engagement
As youths reach the secondary crossroads of their lives, they need to find the right directions to lead them to doing well in school, to being able to balance work, home and play, and even to finding out just what they are about. Students will experience new methods of tackling school subjects and uncover more effective and creative ways to make learning fun. They will also discover how to turn their current passions into future possibilities; and most of all, find the map to flying high in their chosen sky.
Hinged on the twin philosophy that life should be passion led and purpose driven, this program helps participants:
- Become aware of the purpose behind their studying.
- Become aware of their innate personalities, learning styles, inclinations and blind-spots for a better learning journey.
- Renewing individuals to experience the joy of learning and nurture intrinsic motivation towards learning.
- Gain a renewed sense of self and purpose.
Rather than take the usual one-size-fits-all approach to motivation and engagement, we choose to take a data-driven methodology by incorporating baseline assessment and analysis of student’s engagement and motivation levels. On the basis of granular, transparent analysis that is rich and insightful, we are first-off, able to gain a baseline of students’ levels of motivation and engagement on a class and cohort basis. Following, differentiated training focused on developing targeted groups of students and addressing their pain-points enables the simultaneous overcoming of weaknesses and building on strengths. This methodology also enables follow-up in terms of quantitatively demonstrating program effectiveness, as well as ensuring continuity of learning outcomes throughout the academic year and beyond.
Leadership Development
Leadership Development
Leadership Development
Leadership requires strategic thinking in addition to technical knowledge, a tolerance for ambiguity, and the ability to communicate persuasively. Leaders share responsibility and recognition while empowering others to develop their unique talents and capabilities. As such, we are committed towards the twin thrusts of personal and leadership mastery.
At EKA, we subscribe to the five tenets of the leadership challenge, where we share, via structured experiences and interactive hands-on modeling segments, the five principles of leadership: that leaders model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, and finally, encourage the heart. Participants will experience each “tenet” separately, as well as a collective whole, before they are further integrated towards the end of their learning journey.

Teambuilding
Teambuilding
Teambuilding
Fostering teamwork is creating a culture that values collaboration. In a teamwork environment, people understand and believe that thinking, planning, decisions and actions are better when done cooperatively. People recognize, and even assimilate, the belief that “none of us is as good as all of us.”
Our program allows each participant to personally experience what being a team means, rather than simply being part of a team. We use structured experiences to teach participants not just experientially and entertainingly, but also to their fullest learning capacity.
We don’t just build teams, we inspire them.

Psychometric Profiling
Psychometric Profiling
Psychometric Profiling
Personality profiling is based on the idea that each of us has a particular set of gifts, a set of mental tools that we have become comfortable using and thus reach for in the everyday business of living. Although we all have access to the same basic tools in our psychological toolbox, we are often more comfortable with some tools over others. It is our unique set of preferences that makes us appear similar or dissimilar to others.
Through understanding of their individual personality profile, participants will be taken through greater personal development in the areas of interpersonal skills, leadership, learning styles, emotional intelligence, stress management. They will be taught skills to maximize their innate talents to transform them into strengths.
Our team is proficient in administering and interpreting the following instruments:

Public Speaking
The ability to speak well, and often time influentially, is important for students in today’s highly competitive and demanding society. It is the means by which a person communicates ideas and interacts, and the measure by which they are perceived and evaluated by their peers and teachers. It is the means through which he will transmit his ideas, his vision, his instruction; through what he says, how he says things, why he says things, that will inspire, persuade or motivate. This workshop is geared to enable students to attain a high level of presentation dynamics, skills and elegance.

Service Learning
Service Learning
Service Learning
Operation Outreach is designed for students aiming to undertake service learning. Service learning is a teaching method that enriches learning by engaging students in meaningful service to their schools and communities. Young people apply academic skills to solving real-world issues, linking established learning objectives with genuine needs. They lead the process, with adults as partners, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to concerns such as hunger, pollution, and diversity.
Operation Outreach takes each participant from the inception of his or her service learning endeavor through to each student’s personal and social learning outreach project. Combining advocacy work with what we term heart-led project management, each student is given the chance to give back and learn emotionally, cognitively and academically as well. There is a great deal of youth ownership, innovative thinking and project management skills that go with the turf as well.
